Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines Journal NERO (Networking Engineering Research Operation) are as follows:

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Manuscripts written for NERO are scientific journal writings to promote and expand coverage covering the fields of Network, Informatics and Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Multimedia, and Intelligent Systems as well as other research results related to these fields.
  • Manuscripts are written in Indonesian, are written following the general guidelines for refined Indonesian spelling.

  • Manuscripts must be sent via the Online system (OJS) via the page: https://nero.trunojoyo.ac.id/index.php/nero/index. For those who have never registered, please register first on the page: https://nero.trunojoyo.ac.id/index.php/nero/user/register

  • NERO's is published twice a year in April and November.

WRITING STANDARD

  • The manuscripts should be submitted using MS-Word document; in A4 paper format, font Times New Roman 11 point 1-space, page number, and must be between six to fifteen pages. Paper margin should be set as follows: Mirror margin - margins top 3 cm and inside 4 cm, bottom and outside 2 cm.

  • For the title of the paper, typed in Times New Roman font, size 14 points UPPERCASE, spaced 1, inverted pyramid shape.

  • For all citations, the serial number must always be written in the IEEE style [1] format.

  • The author must use Zotero, Mendeley, etc as the reference manager. 

  • Manuscripts are typed using the Microsoft Word program, except for tables and charts using Microsoft Excel and images using the JPEG or TIFF format.

  • The manuscript should be compiled in the following order: title page (should be written concisely describing the paper’s content), author name (without a degree), authors affiliation with postal address, email address, abstract (150-200 words), keywords (at least 4 keywords, put them in alphabetical order, and separated by commas), introduction (contains background, paper aims or contexts), main text (can be presented into sub-categories), conclusion, acknowledgments, appendixes (as appropriate), and references.   • When submitting manuscripts, it is also obligatory to send a letter of authenticity (Copyright Transfer Form) and publication ethics. More detailed publication ethics can be read on the link OJS NERO. The statement of authenticity and ethics of the publication is expected to be read, obeyed, and signed (Copyright Transfer Form) before sending it. The Copyright Transfer Form can be downloaded at the link https://s.id/nerocopyright.

  • Each manuscript at NERO will be reviewed by at least 1 reviewer or more with a double-blind review system. All review processes are carried out online via a web system and the development of the manuscript can be monitored by the author through the Online system.

  • The time each manuscript starts to be sent until it is declared received by the editorial staff will not be the same depending on the review process of each manuscript. Editors cannot guarantee a definite publication time when a new manuscript is submitted by the author.

  • Manuscripts that have been declared received with or without revision by the editorial team and reviewers. The scriptwriter is not charged any fees for the publication of the manuscript.

  • Proof-of-work checking and editing is done by editors and/or by involving the author. An editorial can cancel the loading of a manuscript that is already in print form if it is found to have problems.

  • Everything related to licensing for citation or use of computer software for script creation or other matters related to intellectual property rights carried out by the scriptwriter, as well as any legal consequences that may arise because of it, is the full responsibility of the manuscript writing.

  • After submitting, the author needs to periodically check his/her spam folder in case the response email's recognized as junk mail.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
 

Copyright Notice

Please find the rights and licenses in Journal NERO (Networking Engineering Research Operation). By submitting the article/manuscript of the article, the author(s) agree with this policy. No specific document sign-off is required.

1. License

The non-commercial use of the article will be governed by the Creative Commons Attribution license as currently displayed on Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

2. Author(s)' Warranties

The author warrants that the article is original, written by stated author(s), has not been published before, contains no unlawful statements, does not infringe the rights of others, is subject to copyright that is vested exclusively in the author and free of any third party rights, and that any necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained by the author(s).

3. User/Public Rights

Journal NERO's spirit is to disseminate articles published are as free as possible. Under the Creative Commons license, Journal NERO permits users to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work for non-commercial purposes only. Users will also need to attribute authors and Journal NERO on distributing works in the journal and other media of publications. Unless otherwise stated, the authors are public entities as soon as their articles got published.

4. Rights of Authors

Authors retain all their rights to the published works, such as (but not limited to) the following rights;

  • Copyright and other proprietary rights relating to the article, such as patent rights,
  • The right to use the substance of the article in own future works, including lectures and books,
  • The right to reproduce the article for own purposes,
  • The right to self-archive the article,
  • The right to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the article's published version (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal (NERO : Networking Engineering Research Operation).

5. Co-Authorship

If the article was jointly prepared by more than one author, any authors submitting the manuscript warrants that he/she has been authorized by all co-authors to be agreed on this copyright and license notice (agreement) on their behalf, and agrees to inform his/her co-authors of the terms of this policy. Journal NERO will not be held liable for anything that may arise due to the author(s) internal dispute. Journal NERO will only communicate with the corresponding author.

6. Royalties

Being an open accessed journal and disseminating articles for free under the Creative Commons license term mentioned, author(s) aware that Journal NERO entitles the author(s) to no royalties or other fees.

7. Miscellaneous

Journal NERO will publish the article (or have it published) in the journal if the article’s editorial process is successfully completed. Journal NERO's editors may modify the article to a style of punctuation, spelling, capitalization, referencing and usage that deems appropriate. The author acknowledges that the article may be published so that it will be publicly accessible and such access will be free of charge for the readers as mentioned in point 3.
